The Objectives
Construct an alternate alignment for the Dufferin Sanitary Trunk Sewer (STS) to avoid the G. Ross Reservoir. Rehabilitate sections of the STS utilizing CIPP technology, while abandoning others local sewer segments.
The Challenges
– Installing ~745 m of 1,200 mm of new sewer pipe using micro-tunneling
– The CIPP lining & rehabilitation of ~256 m of 750mm trunk sewer
– Abandoning ~689 m of sewer. and rebuild ~89 m of 250mm / 300mm local sewer
– The Jack-and- Bore of a trenchless crossing on Finch Ave W, with a 1,200mm casing pipe,
and the abandonment of ~240 m of local sewer
– Rehabilitation of existing Manholes: MH135-003, MH135-004, MH135-005, and local MH4723107615
The Result
A Multidisciplinary, project – Ward & Burk was engaged to complete the deep shaft work, with Capital Sewer Services self-performing all other facets of the project.
